And you'd think the empire would fix the hole that caused the destruction the first time.

Well they did fix that hole. But still left other holes there big enough to fly ship through.

No, they just made the hole bigger so that a ship can fly in and destroy the core rather than just photon torpedos from a distance.

So the new version is even worse than the buggy old one?

Who built The Death Star 2, Microsoft? :)

Only if we're comparing XP to Vista.

I just finished watching the bastardized version of Return Of The Jedi. The added "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and Hayden Christiansen as Anakin don't bother me as much as they did before. They only things from George's tinkering that still piss me off are Han ducking out of the way of Greedo's shot and the added Jabba from A New Hope that could have been made better by a 5 year old with a box of crayons.

The only positive thing I have to say about the Special Editions is that they gave me the chance to see the OT in the theaters (okay, I did appreciate the cleaned-up prints, too... but not the added CGI stuff).

For me, the added CGI stuff tainted the whole experience. I wasn't seeing the true OT in theaters like I wanted to (though I knew going in that there would be tinkering, many of the additions were terribly distracting).

The NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! is catastrophic for me. We could clearly see Vader's turmoil before. George needs to learn the power of silence. And Han shot first!

Saying that it is inferior to the other two is not really so horrible, is it?

Not only is it not horrible, it's true. :)

It's still way better than the prequels.. except maybe for Episode III... kinda.

Revenge of the Sith is the best of the worst, in my opinion. As bad as The Phantom Menace is, it has a pretty kick-ass lightsaber fight. It could have been a pretty good film, but it was brought down by Jar Jar.

Excuse me, but Han shot - period!

Why do people say Han "shot first"? This implies Greedo then got a round off. He didn't. He was was dead.

    (OK, back to your discussion....)

Yeah but there was still enough room INSIDE the core to allow a ship to pass into it.

That was the big surprise the Emperor had for them. It was a trap after all. He wanted to bring the entire rebel fleet in one place, and then with the combined Imperial fleet and Death Star wipe them out for good. And he plotted replacing the old and wore out Vader with a new apprentice.

The plan would have worked if not for Luke standing strong and Anakin turning back to the good.

    How awesome are these movies?

Eh... And I had to stare at Jedi every single day, 10-12 hours a day, for six weeks at ILM.

In the Sesame Street universe they're the most exciting thing ever.
