The rolling stones Mono Boxset

There is a person who is offering me the boxset, which is sealed, for 520$ . Should I go for it or is it too much? I really like the albums in the boxset, those are my favourites to be honest.

I wouldnt spend 500 bucks on any box set in the universe. I downloaded about 10 songs which seemed to have the vocals mixed or remixed a little clearer from the London singles 3cd set I purchased for 20 bucks

 

Some on eBay are crazy from japan and some in states are $150.

This thread should be a reminder to us. Buy these box sets before they go OOP. I bought this specific box set less than a year ago for under $200. The same thing is going on with Tom Petty's Vol. 2 set. People want Wildflowers. Now the resellers are marking up the the Petty Box like this onr.

 

I guess I will pass on this since the comments are telling me that this is a rip-off.. shame tho really wanted this boxset

 

I wonder if they'll release these individually like they did with the Beatles in mono

 

Highly doubtful at this point.

 

It's not a rip off. I have the vinyl box and I love it. If you don't have the mono pressings and don't want to deal with the price and condition of originals this is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

 

If you can still get it for $500, and cd's are out of the question, jump on it.... most seem to be around the thousand dollar mark now.
Even discogs are running at 600 euros plus, plus shipping .....

 

What is the verdict on the sound of the CD box set?

 

Rock and Roll?
Money?

 

beyond one's means?

It's good enough to own if you're a fan. I really like it, had the vinyl box before I sold my records. It's really a nice vinyl box. I like the mono CD box.
