I'm concerned the the Amazon description of the book states "a DVD" tie-in. It should be a box set! Just get it all out there so I can stop watching blurry YouTube videos!

I hope they are able to clean up the audio and video a little bit compared to some of what is available on bootlegs, public domain releases and Youtube.

I wonder if the cd/dvd will include this mentioned in the write up about the book. It concludes at the end of the decade, with a look at the band’s performance of “Let It Bleed” on BBC’s Ten Years of What TV special.

Crossing my fingers for decent-sounding audio or any video from the '67 London Palladium performance. The unique arrangement of "It's All Over Now" played there is one of the great lost Stones tracks, imho.

I think the only thing that they were learning is how to come up with strong originals. Unlike a certain other band, where the two main writers had already worked out the kinks of their craft, and were regularly coming up with genius songs, The Stones were not there yet. As a result, they blossomed as songwriters well after they were a powerful unit, and it's a fascinating aspect of the group. There are a few Jagger/Richard duds, along with some real cornball songs. Wisely, they gave a lot of them away!

The new album is a different project. They have supposedly been in the studio recording.

There's a lot of new releases being rumored for this and next year: the Fonda concert in DVD/blu-ray, a new live compilation, this 60's set, the Stones new album on next year and now there's rumours about a Mick solo release.

Word is they're pushing a "Bridges to Babylon" -type LP.

    Grrr … I wouldn't mind a few road-tested COUNTRY covers
    done to Charlie's beat!

I love when they do country but Bridges is my favourite of their latter day albums and I'd be happy to hear something with that kind of musical breadth

I'd still like to hear 'em try a workout of Dave Dudley's, "Six Days on the Road".
The Stones are similar to The Monkees in that they're good interpreters of others'
    tunes.

That's so rad. The Stones sound amazing these days... hard to believe they are still trying new stuff at this stage of the game and pulling it off so well, but there's the evidence ^^
