Got the CD from there too, but I’m giving that one to my Dad. Price was great but this is a must-have on release day thing for me
So how do we rank the Tommy-era shows? For me, Leeds 70 Hull 70 Amsterdam 69 Ottawa 69 (Tommy Super Deluxe) Tanglewood 70 IOW 70 London Coliseum 69
I've watched many a Moon drum cover on youtube, and on every one I think, "Nope...wrong...why are you doing that?...you're trying too hard to apply traditional techniques to nontraditional playing..." But holy hell, THIS guy gets it right.
Listened to the MG jam again today (previously from the stream) which I didn't care much for...........but it's growing on me.
Well, mine finally arrived around 6pm, so far I've only listened to the first two LP's but boy do they sound good, definitely a massive improvement on the old bootleg. One thing I didn't like, is that the records came inside card inners and were really dirty with lots of loose card dust and vinyl particles, before playing I gave them a really good clean on the RCM. I wish poly lined inners came as standard with all vinyl releases especially as they are cheap as chips.
Pardon the threadcrap if this has been discussed upthread, but does the vinyl come with a download code?
No download card in mine, in fact I received two copies one for me and one for a friend and neither have them.
Cranking the CD now, a vast inprovement over the old Shakin’ All Over boot and a nice reminder of what kick-a$$ shows these were
Massive thumbs up from me, amazing versions of A Quick One & Relax, great sound, wild as you'd expect & the feeling of a band approaching their peak. Very happy this got an official release.
Isn't the upgraded source that appeared in the 90s from a radio station employee who copied the master to MiniDisc, rather than an off-air recording?
I’m not as well versed in Who history as most here, so can anyone tell me whether or not anything from this set has been officially released before? I ask because when I uploaded the CD rip of the album to Google Play, it auto-matched ‘I Can’t Explain’ and ‘Happy Jack’ to existing versions in their library which are a different mix, and a much louder master, so obviously taken from a different release. Or can it be that Google Play have boots in their library?
Sounds like the LP was pressed at GZ. Are the deadawax codes machine stamped? The dirtiness caused by the loose card dust and vinyl particles would lead me to believe its GZ.
