One of my favorite Western/character actors has left us. I just watched The Big Gundown this weekend, thinking to myself how great he made that picture... and today he is gone. Adios, Tomas. You will be missed.
I'm also a big fan of the 70s Italian crime films starring Tomas Milian, with "Almost Human" being a particular favorite. RIP Mr. Milian.
I'm really sad to hear of this, he was one of the cinema greats in my opinion. I love "The Big Gundown" and watch my Blu-Ray often, really enjoyed his interview in the extras as well.
Milian and Franco Nero were the biggest stars of Italian cinema from the mid-60s until the late 70s. Sure, many were exploitation, but what a fine actor he was. RIP.
I loved his brief Spanglish rant in JFK (at :41)... He was good in Traffic, too. Intense, scene-stealing character actor. A lot of fun to watch.
It's a shame the average film-goer probably has no idea who he even was, even though as Graham mentioned a few posts back, he was one of the biggest stars of Italian cinema. I've got a bunch of Mr. Milian's movies in my collection: Almost Human Amistad Boccaccio ‘70 Companeros Conspiracy of Torture Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! Don’t Torture a Duckling Four of the Apocalypse Identification of a Woman JFK Revenge Run Man Run Syndicate Sadists Traffic The Yards RIP
