Earlier this week, Tris Imboden left Chicago after 28 years with the band - citing the reason that he wanted to spend more time with his new wife. Earlier today, we then hear that Jeff Coffey, who's only been there a very short time, is also gone.

As of now, they have no drummer and bass player. They have tour dates scheduled in two weeks. It appears something's very wrong in Chicago-land.

Yikes. Imnoden was pretty important to the band-- He took a lot of flak for not being Seraphine, but he was a great drummer with his own style, who never phoned it in. If they replace him with some tribute guy it will be a real shame.

Yikes. That’s not good. Imboden had been in the band for years. Is the end near?

With tour dates 2 weeks away, there must have been some serious **** going down ... Who leaves a band high and dry like that unless there something going on with them? Well I guess in the next installment of the documentary we can listen to Pankow tell us how these two just did not appreciate what Chicago was all about

This is good news for the hard core fans of the original band!

The one on the left certainly couldn’t hack it and the one on the right would spend the night trying to keep up

Because Cetera and Serraphine will rejoin? I like Jacksonville’s odds of winning the Super Bowl better than that.

    Much better, in fact.

Those two will never join but it purifies the group again by getting rid of the outsiders - next to go is Keith :D And where the hell is Walt btw?

The other band members don't want to allow him to go solo.

Outside of bringing in original members (which isn’t going to happen), how does it “purify” the group? Other new guys will have to take their place. Last I checked, if Howland leaves Kath is in no condition to come back, either.

I don’t understand the logic at play here.

Sacred, the original group is sacred, not looking for a tribute band

Yeah because they'll be more authentic now! The original band is dead. It has been since Terry died. It's not coming back. Ever. Peter and Danny are never coming back. The last shot at even so much as a one-time appearance was at the HOF. We know what happened then. We won't see either of them again. We just have to face those facts and move on. Jason and Tris were both in the band longer than those they replaced. The original entity is many decades gone...and it can't come back.

Ah, you mean he can’t just do a solo album like, ummm, like Phil Collins and then come back to do group stuff?

By this logic, the group dies when Terry does...and we neither see nor hear from them again.

Jason and Tris are like Ron Wood when he said even though he’s been there longer than Brian and mick he still is the new guy

Walt absolutely does not have the chops to do anything remotely solo. There's way too much proof of that on YouTube.

This just in from the news desk: that line up is never coming back. So, I still don’t understand the logic.
