    Hi all!

Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the most important U2 albums ever

Without 'Rattle & Hum', no 'Achtung Baby' would've been possible
So, what would you like to have?

  4. This was the last U2 album I really liked. If they'd release something like this and the mastering's good I'll probably buy it:
    - CD 1: Original album
    - CD 2: B-sides and unreleased songs (everything mentioned in the extra tracks section on wikipedia)
    - CD 3 & 4: Full Madison Square Garden show
    - CD 5 & 6: Full Denver show (the setlists are different enough to include them both)
    - Bluray 1: Movie (I know it's not that great, but it has to be here for completeness sake)
    - Bluray 2: Compilation of unused footage from Foxboro, Madison Square Garden, Philadelphia, Long Island and Boston (please focus on songs not used in the movie)

  5. I remember my dad and me taping that from the radio broadcast on new year's eve. I was only 7 years old back then. I've played that tape to death. Sadly the tape ran out before the final encore "40".

I can't claim to know what would be available in this set outside of what was already released on the album/singles/film, but I'm in for a big set if one gets released!

Does anyone know if the film was recorded on 35mm and therefore a full HD version could, in theory, be made available?

It's not exactly from Rattle & Hum but it ended that phase:

the song "Wild Irish Rose" which U2 recorded with Donal Lunny. This is one of their deepest songs. It needs to resurface on CD.

My original Rattle & Hum lp set is still in great shape - don’t need another one. Definitely my favorite U2 album!

Silver and Gold live is ace. I love it when Bono tells Edge to play the blues...and he then proceeds to not play the blues. :DLovely solo though.

Sure, an 'expanded' edition, but a 7 disc boxset? These very expensive box sets should just be for really classic albums. Not every album in a band's catalogue. And although some people love it the general consensus is that it's a good rather than great album.

Chance to fix the errors of 1988: one cd of studio material including b-sides, one cd of all live material from cd and film.

Blu Ray with surround Atmos and 96/24 digital download code.

I'd be happy with a 2-disc set with the b-sides and miscellaneous stuff from the era ("Jesus Christ", "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)". As said above, this was a great era for b-sides. I prefer most of them to what made the album.

It’s a good album that could be made better quite easily. There are many bonus tunes that are, imo, better than what’s on the official release. It would be great for those of us who would like to compile an alt playlist. For me, I’d start by excising all the live stuff.

While not as heralded as many of their other albums, RATTLE & HUM is definitely the one most likely improved by including the b-sides, alternate/movie versions, etc.

But only as a part of 'The Complete Digital Box Set'. 128 kbps MP3 !
The unreleased Radio Broadcast is 192 Kbps

    Still we don't have a lossless/CD release

I hope it will happen. Rattle and hum is not my favorite album of U2.
That will always be The Unforgettable Fire.
Heartland should be on that album.
I like Rattle and hum and it deserves a deluxe treatment.
