The Dean Ween Group, Rock 2. Digging it so far, first track has a strong P-Funk vibe and none other than Michael "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton putting it over, and so far three tracks in it's the next best thing to the new Ween album that will probably never happen.
Great overlooked R.E.M. album. Speaking of R.E.M. and Wilco, Be Mine and California Stars were both key songs at my wedding.
California Stars is a fantastic song. I first heard it in a movie with Micharl Douglas, around 2006 maybe. Beautiful poetry from Woody Guthrie. Nice music by Wilco
The music is good, but the fake audience track to make us believe this was recorded live is irritating.
This is news to me. Fake live? And Wiki ain't talking either. I trust you know something about this. If true, this is disappointing. Sometimes a man can lose all hope, after what he thought for 45 yrs is totally untrue. I'll survive but damn. lol
It's a nice album anyway, even though the jamming is not very inspired in my opinion. You will find this post useful: Your favorite FAKE live recording
I've been relistening a lot of New Order and Joy Division the last 24 hour (party people) and relived parts of my misspent youth. To be young and alive in the '90's again. Youth is truly wasted on the young... I'd never thought I'd live to utter those words Seriously, New Order's Technique is one of the coolest albums ever and the lyrics are just fantastic.
I've been enjoying the Texas-based Psychic Ills lately, especially their latest, Inner Journey Out (2016). Spacemen 3 meets Mazzy Star with some BRMC. Hope Sandoval guests on one song.

Which Phish show? I don't know. I'll have to check my fabulous collection for 1996. And I never finished the last two shows of Baker's.
I guess Vanguard was not very happy with the fact that John Fahey's first album for the label included a 20-minute-long musique concrète experiment on the B side . I love it. One of my favorite albums by John.
I have that Carlos and Buddy Miles album as well, and also didn't realize it was a fake live album. A good listen, regardless. Anyway, I'm listening to this at the moment:
That's bizarre. Are there any other substantive changes? Care to comment on the mastering? I've been on the fence about picking up the Blu-Ray for hopefully upgraded stereo sound (I don't do surround), but the shortened WLL makes me less likely to bite.
The new mastering is equalized differently, and it's only slightly lower in volume, so it's still loud as hell. Don't expect any significant upgrade.
