Possible? I have a nice heavy duty Niles switch box. It’s excellent w analog. I don’t think I’d do it. But I would like more inputs on my DAC.

An analog switch box can’t carry digital signals to a digital input on your DAC. If you want more inputs that your DAC provides, you ideally need another DAC that provides more inputs if you want the best audible results.

There are digital switch boxes available however. Check Amazon:

    4 To 1 Optical Audio Switcher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1V14XO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_tai_QdP3AbWD2S2DW

Portta 3 Port 3x1 SPDIF/Toslink Digital Optical Audio Switch/Switcher with IR Remote suppo... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KDZEWWO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_tai_fgP3Ab..

. . . and a few others. The problem with digital switch boxes is that there’s no guarantee of proper jitter control.

I use an optical switch box from CYP (dunno if these are available in the USA, but this is the one - AU-D41 - 4-Way Digital Audio Switcher - CYP Europe ) to feed the digital signals from TV and a PVR into my DAC (Chord Hugo). This isn't as "sensitive" a use as using the BR/DVD player into the same DAC, let alone my main SACD/CD player, but it works well enough.

CYP also do a larger switch, the 820S - Audio Switchers & Splitters - CYP Europe - which includes coax inputs and outputs.

In my opinion Inday makes very, very good digital switches, targeted towards the professional market. I have used them for years. Highly recommended.

I have been using an Inday switch for a number of years, and it supports both Optical and Coax. However, I've only used it for the audio portion of video sources, so I don't know how well it performs for what I deem more discriminating 2 channel audio-only needs.

I have compared it in many two channel and multi channel configurations. It is completely transparent IMO. In my experience there isn't a better device at this price point.
