Were there 78 only labels at the end of the 50s?

I have a 78 of The Imperials Tears On My Pillow on Quality Records, licensed from End Records (their label). I'm wondering if they were pressing 78s for juke box operators and/or lower income kids that weren't able to upgrade their record players.

I think there may still have been some kiddie labels, things like Peter Pan--but don't quote me on it; I'm not sure when those switched over/went away. A friend who runs a blog called The Shellackophile is interested in those, and there may be more info there if you want to pursue it.

Though it doesn't say it anywhere on the label, according to Discogs, Quality was a Canadian label, and they also pressed the 45 in Canada.

Too bad my 78 has a chigger bite in the runin groove. At least it doesn't affect play.

Quality is a Canadian label. The 78 tinetable will be different. In some countrys 78s were produced up into the mid 60s.

Yeah, kiddie players were 78 speed until the early 60s.
