The world of music is immense and probably it happened to discover an album... "too late"; then: what album/s would you have liked to discover long before?

    My albums:
    • The Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 6 by Niccolò Paganini
    • The Ideal Crash by dEUS

Tons of them. Love's "Forever Changes" for example rates near the top of that list.

Edit: as others have already said below, it's never too late, and I agree. I rarely buy new music, as there's so much "old" stuff I've yet to discover for myself from Gene Clark to Wishbone Ash and everything in between and beyond.

    Too late? None of them.

    Later than I would prefer:

    Love -- Forever Changes
    Kinks -- Village Green PS
    The Sadies -- New Seasons

    for starters.

    Jim Carroll "Catholic Boy".

I always liked the song "People Who Died" but I didn't get around to hearing the whole LP until earlier this year. Great album.

In college, I always hated Jackson Browne, and thought he was a wimp. Now, that I'm an old fogey, I enjoy listening to Saturate Before Using and For Everyman.

I think the OP means something along the lines of, "Why did it take me so long to pick up on this great music?"

In my case, one example would be punk: X, Buzzcocks, Ramones and the like. Also Graham Parker and Elvis Costello.

Pink Floyd and The Doors mainly because when I was in high school the people who liked them tended to be the ones I didn't get along with. I wrongly assumed that if they liked them they must be crap.

I was also pretty late to The Beatles party.

On a related note I have never heard Nirvana's Nevermind. I have and like Bleach so I must get around to checking that out.

That's what I thought he meant. For my part, I was too late for Donny Hathaway because of my age. I was 6 when he died so I didn't have a chance to see him live. That would have been amazing based on the live stuff he's done that I've accrued over the years.

Pat Metheny's Bright Size Life is one classic I wish I'd known about sooner. Wasn't until a friend lent me his copy of Song X that I really appreciated Metheny's playing; up to then I only wanted it for the Ornette Coleman.

On that basis, my biggest regret was not being old enough to see Bob Marley & The Wailers promote the 'Natty Dread' album. Imagine what it must have been like to witness 'No Woman No Cry' at that Lyceum concert - a totally captivated audience on a hot summer night back in 1975.

I discovered pretty much every album I own too late because I like very little modern music, I was born in 1998, and I didn't really get into music other than game OSTs until several years ago. The only album I can think of that I didn't discover too late was Syro by Aphex Twin. I got it and listened to it on release day.

Black Widow - Sacrifice. I would have loved this album back in the 80's.
