Yukon Blonde - On Blonde (ltd. coloured vinyl)
New album from 0ne of my favorite current bands

Damu The Fudgemunk - How It Should Sound, Vols. 3-5 (ltd. coloured vinyl)
New set of releases in the How It Should Sound series, which is instrumental hip-hop. Excellent stuff.

Damu The Fudgemunk - How It Should Sound, Vols. 1-2 (5th anniversary edition)
I had Vol.1, but not Vol.2, and since I was placing an order for Vols. 3-5, it made sense to buy this too.

Red House Painters - Songs For A Blue Guitar
Probably my favorite RHP album. It's the first time it's been issued on vinyl, (anything released on Plain doesn't count) so this was a must buy.

    Mac Demarco - Salad Days
I skipped the initial Mac hype thinking he'd be terrible. Turns out I really like his stuff. I missed out on the original pressing, and just recently bought the re-press.

    LCD Soundsystem "S/T"
The Smiths "Hatful of Hollow" (2011 Rhino reissue that has so many pressing issues that it's embarrassing)
    Deafheaven "Sunbather"

Pink Floyd - The Wall (white vinyl)
The Wall is my favorite album. And I didn't have a colored vinyl yet.

    Vangelis - China
    Always liked this album

West Side Story O.S.T. ( philips mono pressing 1961)
My parents had this album. So a lot of memories, with this album.

    Gravity O.S.T.
    Amazing movie, and great soundtrack

Star Wars The Phantom Menace O.S.T. (I Am Shark reissue)
Bought this, just before they announced the reissue box next January.

Peggy Lee - Is that all there is?
Love that album and her interpretations and the arrangements. Green target label from Scranton Factory.
Don Nix - Living by the Days ( WLP)
Good album, although I love his Hobos the most. The background vocals etcetera are oudstanding, as is the playing.
The Band - Milestones (Dutch twofer)
RL mastering of brown album, plus early mastering of Big Pink.
Better quality vinyl than the US ones I heard.
    Redwing - Redwing
nice first album from ever underrated band..
    The Tubes - Remote Control
Sonically a disaster but really good playing. They are great musicians.

  6. Goldy

    Location:

    Pink Floyd - Endless River
    Cause just must have this.

Motorhead - Bad Magic limited white vinyl
    Same.

In Flames - Jester Race 2014 black vinyl reissue
I was very into early In Flames back in early 2000s, and always wanted this one on vinyl, but it existed only as very expensive (and useless) picture disc. So I finally got this one. Officially sourced from CD, but I don't care :)

Mendes Prey - The Never Ending Road 2015 2LP black vinyl, limited to 400 copies
The anthology of obscure NWOBHM band. Good music, sound quality not so, but that's all there is.

A batch of russian Iron Maiden Gala Records 1993 reissues - Iron Maiden, Piece Of Mind, Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Fear Of The Dark. All in EX condition, $50. Worth FOTD alone online I think.

  9. Dr Faustus

Dr Faustus A younger man now getting old

    Let's see:

Keith Richards: Crosseyed Heart. HAd great reviews and people whose musical opinion I trust had said it was good.

The Pogues: Rum, sodomy and the Lash. Went to HMV to get Crosseyed Heart and saw this limited edition on red vinyl. A great, fun album. And I like coloured vinyl.

Sandy Denny: The Northstar Grassman and the Ravens. Original pressing from 1971 in VG condition. Sandy Denny is one of my favourite singers. Great album.

Led Zeppelin II: near mint UK second pressing (as I learned here!). Sounds amazing.

Bob Dylan: not a special edition but it is in very good shape and was cheap. It's a great album.

Great to find a 1997 press of this undisputed classic (sealed) at a decent price.

On Impulse / abc white label (Gatefold, 1974) - One of my favourite records right now.

Killer triple vinyl funk and soul comp. Not in a visually great state, but plays OK.

Blue vinyl Janus repress - stunning all round.

I've got my 4 year old granddaughter to pick one LP from a record shop each month, as she has no prejudice in selecting music. This way I get to hear something that I wouldn't necessarily buy - see below!

Not a bad first choice - generally like this one

Once again quite a good choice, maybe the cover had something to do with it - Not really my favourite genre but decent all the same

Another cover selection I think - Painful listen, must try again!

    Attractive lady - enough said!

She just wouldn't put this one down, carried around the shop for ages - The best of the bunch so far, I really like this one

There we go, if you want something completely random get a youngster to pick!

    Hmm, last 5:

Elvis Presley: Golden Records Volume 3 45RPM - crystal clear sound and flawless pressing but the low end is not nearly as good as an original. Meh.
Counting Crows: August And Everything After 45Rpm - whoa! Demo disc city right here!

So, after those two purchases, I obviously needed to take a second job to afford the next three :)

Queensryche: Condition Human - Great album by a rejuvenated band. Sound is loud and digital but easier on the ears than the CD. Pressing is super noisy though.
JD McPherson: Let The Good Times Roll - Great album but sound quality nowhere near as good as the debut on vinyl
Ian Anderson: Homo Erectus - I couldn't tell you how the vinyl sounds. I am now on copy number three and the warping is so bad on all of them, they are unplayable

4 were the remastered first four Peter Gabriel albums, on which the Forum consensus seems mixed. They are to me quite different from the originals and I like them.
The other was Aha's Hunting High and Low. Wouldn't have touched it back in the day but the reissue has been getting good reviews as a fine example of 80s synthesiser pop. I snagged a cheap original and agree. Reminds me a fair bit of Midge Ure's Ultravox.
(I haven't got round to my Kamasi Washington jazz triple yet..but looking forward to it).

  20. Yesterday

    Erykah Badu- New Amerykah Pt1
Erykah Badu- Baduizm (edited version with tracks omitted)
The Associates- Fourth Drawer Down Japanese pressing w/obi and poster insert.
Miles Davis- Miles In Tokyo Japanese pressing.
Freddie Hubbard- The Black Angel Japanese pressing

I wanted some more Badu on vinyl, Fourth Drawer Down completes my collection of Associates albums on vinyl. Miles and Freddie were cheap and you can't have too much of either artist.

    Jonny Fritz - Dad Country
Dawes - All Your Favourite Bands
Bought from the artists at their shows because they were in Melbourne to play the fabulous 'Out On The Weekend' Americana festival.
All put on great shows and the LPs are fantastic!

Also Lucinda Williams - Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone from my local because she's touring soon and I guess I needed her latest.

And Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker 2Lp reissue. I bought this because I have the original and foolishly gave away the first KG mastered 2lp set. When I found out this new version was his mastering I had to have it!

I've been spinning all non stop and loving it!
