This video is a promo for upcoming Ulver box-set. What i am wondering is, is this the end for that particular record? How did they remaster it, by digital files? From now on, source for that record is only digital files? any one care to explaine please?

I'm presuming that the tape was good only for a one time pass to a (presumably) digital format, and they decided to burn the tape thereafter..

If they had to bake the tape to play it, there are no more plays to be had. They could throw it away, or they could burn it and get some artistic value out of destroying something that is now useless.

Or, in other words "Made you look!"

I'm sure they archived it at some very high bitrate, like 192/24.
