I'm a big fan of "Andras: Book of Angels Vol. 28", by the Nova Express Quintet:

    John Medeski
(organ, piano), Kenny Wollesen (vibraphone), Trevor Dunn (acoustic & electric basses), Joey Baron (drums), Cyro Baptista (congas, percussion) and John Zorn (compositions, arrangements).

My favorite "Zorn" bands all have Wollensen on vibes, Nova Express, The Dreamers, and The Gnostic Trio.

Right now, it's anything by Walt Dickerson. Especially his more free-form stuff from the 70s. Hard to find original pressings of his albums around here though.

Mainieri teams up with a who's who of Nordic Nujazz including Nils Petter Molvaer, Eivind Aarset, Bugge Wesseltoft, Lars Danielsson and Jan Bang. Good stuff.

Hard to believe Manieri is 80 years old!

Flying Home!!! After reading a John Hammond bio i realize Charlie Christian had a lot of influence in the inspiration and creation of this song. His style just kicked it up and Lionel took it and created this amazing jam. Such a cool song.

I am still having a helluva time tracking down a cheap, decent copy of Sunflower on vinyl...

One more I don't believe mentioned so far, one of my favourite Dexter Gordon albums:

Man, I love me some vibes...I use the "vibes"/"soft vibes" patches on my synth for quite a bit of my own music these days. Obviously I don't own the real thing...

His best version of "Flying Home" is on the 1967 album "Newport Uproar". When I bought this
in 1967, I was blown away by this performance....as was the crowd at Newport. Truly exciting.

Both of Mancini's "Peter Gunn" albums were, and still are, my goto jazz albums for
vibes. Some sensational vibe work on both volumes. The first one was the first
album (1959) to win in the new category "Album Of The Year".

Here's just one sample, but Victor Feldman and Larry Bunker are both on vibes on both albums.

I saw a clean Sunflower vinyl at a B&M yesterday and forgot to pick it up with my other purchases.
