Yeah, this is a little early, but I think I am whittling down my top 10 of 2017, and I'm going to start posting them countdown-style (along with what I think is my favorite track).

(Don't have your top 10 decided yet? You can wait until Dec 31 to post. Don't like top 10 lists/threads? Happily move along to another thread that floats your fancy, and have a great day!!).

Also, anything that came out in 2017 qualifies, and that includes live / unreleased / reissued.

    #10:

For my #10 pick, I am going with David Crosby's Sky Trails. For the second year in a row, Crosby has put out a very solid, very well-crafted solo LP that has again made my top 10.

Not sure I'm ready yet, must listen to 2 - 3 new albums every week but as of yet and no way can I put them in order, so:

Courtney Marie Andrews - Honest Life
Brent Cobb - Shine On Rainy Day, amazing live in Manchester
    Laura Marling - Semper Femina
Margo Price - All American Made
    Chris Stapleton - From A Room Vol.1
Otis Taylor - Fantasizing About Being Black

Perhaps I'll have four more I'm confident about by 31 December?

This is surprisingly good as well; it sounds like it's better than what brother Noel is about to release, but we'll see.

Didn't see this one coming, Liam!

    #9:

For my #9 pick, I'm going with Queens Of The Stone Age's Villains.

Nearly 20 years on, the band keep finding a way to make their sound fresh and exciting. Every QOTSA release is worth hearing, and Villains is no exception. Probably would have been higher on my list if not for some really remarkable releases this year.

This is one of the best rock tracks of the year as well:
