    1. Sansho the Bailiff
    2. A Man Escaped
    3. McCabe & Mrs. Miller
    4. Wild Strawberries
    5. The New World
The only constant, position-wise, being the first. I'll defer to Anthony Lane:

"I have seen 'Sansho' only once, a decade ago, emerging from the cinema a broken man but calm in my conviction that I had never seen anything better; I have not dared watch it again, reluctant to ruin the spell, but also because the human heart was not designed to weather such an ordeal."

I saw this post in a search result query, and I seriously thought it was post I made. With the exception of Eraserhead, all those films are in my top five.

Great minds think alike! what would your fifth be? I'm surprised that I put Eraserhead down actually. I'd probably just re-watched it and was feeling very enthusiastic about it you know how it is.

I don't know how folks rank things really. I kind of made a list of flicks I'll always watch (no particular order and always subject to change).

    Jaws
Annie Hall (or maybe Crimes and Misdemeanors.... or Husbands and Wives....)
Captains Courageous (if you ask my girls they will say this is my favorite movie)
The Godfather (putting I and II in here)
    Touch of Evil maybe...
