I saw Wir Kinder von Bahnhof Zoo in its first run in former West Berlin. I was a 17 year old privileged kid from the suburbs of Seattle. It was a pretty jarring film, to say the least.
try looking for the title's , The outside tour rehearsals on Grexit label or Slinky secrets on Wardour.
Audience or soundboard or other? Just gonna check the set list... Setlist: 01 Quicksand 02 Heroes 03 Jean Genie 04 I'm Afraid Of Americans 05 Band Introductions 06 Battle For Britain 07 Fashion 08 Seven Years In Tibet 09 Fame 10 Looking For Satellites 11 Under Pressure 12 The Heart's Filthy Lesson 13 Scary Monsters 14 Hallo Spaceboy 15 Little Wonder 16 Encore Call 17 Dead Man Walking 18 White Light White Heat 19 O Superman 20 Stay 21 Encore Call 22 V2-Schneider 23 The Last Thing You Should Do 24 Is It Any Wonder
It's an amazing audience recording if I'm right - but sounds almost like a SBD - a little bit 'boxy', but the set list is fantastic. Stay is such a refreshing version - synthesized vocals included, and the last encore is to die for. He say Is It Any Wonder is "A rearrangement of one of our other songs". it bears NO resemblance to Fame at all and nobody in the crowd seems to know what he's on about lol. Get it if you can - it's The Last Thing You Should Do...YEAH!
I checked out some samples and I believe an audience recording. I saw the show five days later but the set list was not as obscure as this Madrid show. You heard the Boston CyberLive show from 1997?
Toy. I love this release. I hope whoever is in charge of his recorded legacy, makes an argument for an official release. All we have is the Mp3 version. I'm sure we'd all love to hear it lossless.
No - I didn't know about that one. There are so many great ones from that tour. I've heard L.Dopa Utrecht and the Paradiso Amsterdam - both are great. I love the Tao Jones Index style sets.
Very similar, but the sound quality on the Madrid boot is much much better - no distortion at all. Telling Lies is missing too - it's on Paradiso and Utrecht. That's a shame, I really like that one. What sax is that huge thing? A bassoon? It sounds like ship. And why is Bowie still in his pyjamas?
CD-R I put together of b-sides, outtakes, live versions, Arnold Corn tracks and other assorted rarities. I have another CD-R of all instrumental tracks that came out really nice.
Could be a baritone sax, he used that on O Superman as well. Telling Lies Paradiso is on the Liveandwell 2cd. Overdose drum & bass makes you sleepy.
I must have played the BLACKSTAR video about eight times over the last week. Then I always dig out the extra DVD from The Next Day. My goodness, it is funny what hypnotizes us sometime. That said, I find the pieces life-affirming and filled with little wonders.
