Same here. I love the Diamond Dogs tracks, but some of those arrangements on other songs I can't take. I always put on David Live thinking it's better than it is (although I do still love most of it). I'm excited for Cracked Actor to come out.
Just listened to "Outside" this morning for the first time in years. Think I"ll put it in heavy rotation as I feel like I have been overlooking this.... it's better than I thought when it first came out.
Listening to the "Tonight" Album-Recorded around this time 33 years ago, only an hours drive from Montreal.
'As The World Falls Down' from the Labyrinth soundtrack is being played quite a bit at the moment. Still can't believe he's no longer with us, doing 'Bowie' type stuff off in the world somewhere...
Listened to soundtrack "Ziggy Stardust - Motion Picture" July 1973, and listened through (DVD's) D.A. Pennebaker & Tony Visconti audio commentary, and revealing and fascinating look back!
In simple terms, flat, quiet. The best coloured vinyl I've heard in a long time. Reproduction lyric insert and black poly lined die cut inner. My only grievance with it is that the back cover image and lettering is a tiny bit muggy, not pin sharp ... but the sound is!
MANY thanks! Having had no experience of gold vinyl, my main concern was with wondering if it was quiet.. I thought that being the case, it should be great because I've been reading that people have been very happy in general with the sq of recent Bowie reissues. I have some of the latest Parlophone Remasters on CD and I'm SO glad I own them - IMO quite superior to other CD issues I have of those titles. I have the earlier Ryko/EMI CDof this album - the one with with bonus tracks. So this will be a lovely addition to the collection, having not had an LP of it for some years. Note: For those interested, this was only released in the UK last week and is a limited edition. Is meant to be out elsewhere in around two weeks and they say it's only being sold in 'bricks and mortar stores.'
Home made compilation of favourite moody tracks and lesser known ones. First track is wonderful Nice piece by Angelo Badalamenti How David Bowie Beat Bono To Be The Singer On Angelo Badalamenti's Version Of “A Foggy Day (In London Town)”
Heathen sacd. The album released 15 years ago yesterday. Some background here: http://diffuser.fm/david-bowie-heathen-album/
I've played David Live and the new Cracked Actor live set. Made me want to revisit Diamond Dogs which I may do later today.
