Ok - so pretend that Steve will only master one more album before retiring. Which album would you prefer?
This is a tough one - I'd like to go with Radiohead - OK Computer. I love the music, but to my ears its just so compressed and brickwalled that I just can't listen to it without getting annoyed by the mastering...........
Steve, if you are watching (and are not offended by the question...) - feel free to chime in with what your own choice would be if you only had one left..............

    Fair Warning for Audio Fidelity.

Or (highly unlikely), a deluxe edition by the VH camp:

    Disc One:
    Fair Warning album
    Outtakes, rough mixes, rehearsals, etc.

    Discs Two and Three:
Live in Oakland...two of the three nights were recorded. Take the best performance of each song from those 2 nights...with a set list like this, who could gripe? :

    On Fire
    Sinner’s Swing!
    Drum Solo
    Hear About It Later
    So This Is Love?
    Jamie’s Cryin’
    Bass Solo
    Runnin’ With The Devil
    Dance The Night Away
    Sunday Afternoon In The Park
    Romeo Delight
    Everybody Wants Some!!
    Ice Cream Man
    Mean Street
    Guitar Solo
    Feel Your Love Tonight
    You Really Got Me
    Unchained
    Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love

I think The Archies debut is clearly in need of his expertise.

'OK Computer' is my #1 Favorite Album of All Time, so SH putting his talent to work on this album would be awesome. I played that CD from the day it was released July 1st or 2nd(I forget), 1997 from the Best Buy in Mission Viejo, CA for 4-5 days per week for the next year, and almost as often for the next year, and never got sick of it(it went with me every time I had to drive somewhere). The first 6-12 months, my favorite song from 'OKC' would change on a weekly basis(and also the B-Sides on the EP-'Airbag/How Am I Driving' were a strong collection of songs).

'OKC' revealed new layers with multiple listens, and that is what makes a great album to me, along with the emotional punch that it packed(unlike 'Kid A' which left me cold, as outside a few songs, like 'How to Disappear Completely', it did not provide the same emotional punch). I cannot say the constant playing of an album 4-5 days per week over a 2 year period without just getting sick of it, would be possible with any other albums in my my large collection('Quadrophenia' that I first bought in the late 1990s-the 1996 Remastered CD, then the 2011 Remastered CD & the Live in London release a few years ago, along with 'Origin of Symmetry'-MUSE, 'The Last Broadcast'-Doves, 'The Holy Bible'-Manic Street Preachers & 'Dog Man Star'-Suede comes the closest though for heavy repeat listens that I would not get sick of hearing), so that is why 'OK Computer' remains my #1 favorite album even to this day.

    What a sense of humor.

In all seriousness, I finally got a copy of your two disc set of that 70's comp. I know those songs like the back of my hand. If nothing else proves it's all in the mastering, that one does. I can't believe how much better most of those songs sound. I actually noticed bass on a few of the tracks that I never even knew was there before. Really appreciate what you do!

I'll play, but no one is going to agree this album should be the "last". One of my all time favorites is Eric Carmen's debut solo album. It's also one of the worst sounding. I'll even buy two copies!

I would really love to see Van Halen - 1984. I believe it was worked on, or even finished, but never released back in the day.

The complete works of David Bowie. If it has to be a single disk, make it a Blu-Ray :)
