New York Dolls by default, since they are the greatest band to ever walk the planet...

If you look at the original post, most if these don't fit. "Georgia" is a place. Not "Georgia satellites". The topis is t bands with a name partially of a geographic region.

I voted portishead. I have a general rule that bands named after places are generally terrible

It is a cool logo for sure. Too bad the band is so lousy.

I went for the United States of America. It's a shame that they never got to develop past their very promising debut, which offered a distinctly American take on psychedelia that was far removed from the West Coast sound and unique for its time. I also like Portishead and Camberwell Now (an obscure offshoot of This Heat from the 80's). What about the Planet Gong? Do imaginary places count?

For the most part, I don't care for bands that are named after cities/states/countries/continents. Maybe I don't identify with fixed geographical boundaries?
