There are at least 3 coming to mymind
    Best EVER and FIRST

Easy Rider - the music fits perfectly within the movie AND the album sounds fantastic without the visual side
PURPLE RAIN Prince first shine and a new chapter in POP/Rock/Soul music

As a Reggae Head it's ROCKERS. Such a great independent movie with so many artists often playing their own characters. Some of the best moments in Reggae - Burning Spear freestyling on the beach without any music JAH NO DEAD, Graduation In Zion, Money Troubles fit so fine in that context.
    Dope movie, great alum.

There are more but these 3 stand out so much above the rest.

It's probably as much a factor of how much I enjoyed the movie, but the soundtrack to Drive is one of my favorites. It starts with 5 80's songs. Not ones you would probably expect and then continues with 14 instrumentals composed by Cliff Martinez. I have to turn my preamp down, so it's recorded very hot, but doesn't seem too compressed.

Hard to answer as I don't generally buy Soundtracks albums but I have bought a few of them because I like the music. A weird one I like a lot is the music Charles Bernstein composed for the first "Nightmare on Elm Street" movie.

The James Bond "Best Of" cd I have is an awesome compilation.

This one from Elvis is also a good comp from his movies:

Is he playing "Stairway To Heaven" or "The Song Remains The Same" in this photo? It looks like he may be playing an A minor - I'll go with "Stairway.." :righton:
