Not quite what you're asking, but I would love a music DVD of 'various artist' music videos I liked, as chosen by me.

A sort of personalized Video album.

There was a David Sylvian / Robert Fripp live in Japan concert released in the early '90s on both VHS & laserdisc that AFAIK has yet to have a legitimate DVD release. I believe the concert was originally a tv broadcast and perhaps there are now license issues?

I don't have specific shows in mind per se, but this is a sore subject with me. Why? When I search for stuff on youtube, there is PLENTY of it. I was thinking why weren't these groups filmed, and the answer is, "they were," it is just that the music companies, for licensing/rights reasons, won't release anything. Shame on them.

I would buy any Michael Hedges concerts. I watched one fantastic show on cable over a decade ago. According to his web site, concerts aren't being released because of musical rights issues.:realmad:

How about something featuring Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and specifically Nirvana MTV Unplugged. I think Stone Temple Pilots did a unplugged set (there is one song on their greatest hits CD/DVD combo). How about concerts of groups IN THEIR PRIME? Like early Aerosmith?

These are the 3 that I have on LD that I wouldn't mind having a DVD of. Then I'd be a bit closer to being able to sell the LD player. Not that much closer though.

JOHN COUGAR / AIN'T THAT AMERICA
TOM PETTY / TAKE THE HIGHWAY LIVE

Yes-QPR 1976-It might be impossible if multitracks don't exist, but I would love to hear a properly mixed version of this set with the band's full blessing and participation and some extras. Even with bad sound I still think it's the best Yes performance you can watch on your TV.

Pink Floyd-The Wall At Earls Court 1980-Even the bootleg dubbed from multigeneration VHS is somewhat watchable. Imagine fully restored footage.

U2-Rattle And Hum (Special Edition) One disc would have the original film. The other disc would have a complete Joshua Tree era performance.

I swooped up the two ORIGINAL Japanese Laser Discs of this on ebay for $10 or so each when the bootleg DVDs appeared. I remember seeing them new in the import bins for 69.00 each.

I knew a bargain when it jumped up and bit me in the whatever.
