What New Blu-ray disc have you gotten lately? (Disc 4)

Southern Comfort-New reissue on blu with a DVD from Shout Factory. Looks very nice indeed, nice short documentary on the making of the film. The DVD arrived scratched not a big deal but it happened because the DVD was floating around.

Yeah I'm going to. The nice thing is that Shout includes all the special features on both the blu-ray and DVD.

 

Criterion is also doing that with thier combo releases

 

Shout and Criterion have so much in common.

I don't know where that title came from, as I usually just do a cut and paste off my list and I don't have that title nor is it on any of my want lists.
The movie was that I watched was the original Cape Fear.

In fact, this was long only available as a DVD-R from that could be ordered off of Amazon or www.warnerarchive.com

Received Point Blank earlier this week. What a brilliant film!

 

Have you bought from them before and if so how is the service, packaging, shipping speed, etc?
They have some pretty good prices on some pre-orders I am looking into.

 

I recommend them highly, in fact, I'm trusting them with my Criterion The Big Chill , here in a couple of weeks !

Be prepared--"Cat People" has some nice, bold, vibrant colors but there's an overuse of dnr and its clearly an older HD transfer (probably from when they first introduced HD-DVD).

Still, the extras from Shout are quite nice and the film has never looked better compared to previous issues.

I just wish it looked significantly better than it does.

 

It does look better than my old DVD and it takes up less space on the shelf but wouldn't hesitate to triple dip for a good PQ/AQ upgrade.
