It would need to be the 51st anniversary!

Let's hope things turn around but the March court meeting is only about EH demanding their money back. This shows that things are not right between the two parties. If they completely split, Goldstein would not have the right to exploit the film with somebody else. EH have full rights to performance footage and audio and would block him, like they did with Radioactive and Purple Haze Records.
Goldstein is also facing court appearances concerning Sly Stone (and a divorce settlement I think). This seems to be why he made it awkward for EH, to freeze thing pending outcome of the other cases. He didn't want to see his Hendrix dividends filtered off to Sly and the wife.

My point was if they are going to remaster it anyway, they might as well release the alternates and outtakes as well perhaps as a deluxe edition.

I had forgot about him being the one facing Sly Stone about his copyrights and unpaid royalties.

Then it's in his best interest to pay off EH for now if he'd rather not finish the RAH movie just yet. I wonder why he would even let this go to court, unless he truly believes it was a non-refundable deposit.

Are people really that cheap and crass? I guess so. I have had to hound people for payment as low as $150. Due. So I guess yes, some will take your check and walk off like its a gift. I would not be able to sleep at night, I'd have nightmares. LOL!

Right but my point was that they are not going to remaster it anyway because they just did. And it's wonderful too.

    I'm all for that! :)

    And to go along with what I said earlier about the prospective EL remaster;

(we could also do this with AYE and AXIS, with a few bonus tracks tagged on...)

A 2 cd set for each album.
The more the merrier, I say!

    Yeah... unfortunately.
It's downright sad when the state of re-mastering is so abysmal that flat transfers are preferable.
just tragic. Needless to say (I hope) a GOOD remaster would be preferable.

Remastered (like the mastering on Rainbow Bridge and Cry Of Love) CDs of the first 3 albums, with Are You Experienced having the bothe UK and US tracks as well as the B-sides in proper mono. Don't care for remixes.

The original session versions have already been released on various albums:

"Somewhere", "Come Down Hard", "Stone Free" - in the purple box set
"Power Of Soul" - on Saturn Delta (with a bizarre confused mix - surely an error)
    "Message To Love" -
appeared in the 90s on the now deleted Alan Dougles compilation Voodoo Soup and then remixed for the purple box set.
    "Peace in Mississippi"
    -
appeared also on the deleted Voodoo Soup and a new (and better) mix appeared on a CD single with "Valleys Of Neptune"
    "Captain Coconut"-
original parts of this collage on Voodoo Soup (as "New Rising Sun") and on Burning Desire ("as MLK"). "New Rising Sun" re-surfaced in 2010 in a slightly longer form on West Coast Seattle Boy box set.
    "Somewhere"/"Crash Landing" -
on People, Hell & Angels ("Somewhere" being a new composite of seperate takes).

I think Kramer has stated that there's no more Studio material worthy of an official release but there are still Live releases waiting to happen.

Berkeley 1st show is the only one that feels appetizing. And any professionally recorded January 1969 concerts, aside from the Albert Halls.
They could always remix and release San Diego '69 and LA Forum '69 and claim they are "previously unreleased" like they usually do.

I'd be happy with re-mixes of those 2 shows. Not too keen on the 80's mixes.

"Peace in Mississippi" is also on the Purple box reissue from a couple years ago.

It's possible that it will be the second CD of the planned three for the Curtis Knight & The Squires RSVP/PPX Sessions.

A second one would be the "live" material (a demonstration tape recorded in an empty Georges Club, NJ in December 1965).
A third would try and make something out of the little scraps left on tape after the two summer 1967 KnightHendrix reunions at Studio 76, NY.

As unappetizing as that may be to some fans, I think it would be great. The live recordings are of great historical importance and contain some blistering performances from Jimi that are underexposed. The 1967 studio stuff could also benefit from a proper, honest presentation.

Yes, there are some great little things on there - that have been in the shops for decades!!! Hopefully Exp. Hendrix will put them out without the over-dubbed party noises and that Eddie can up the sound a little.

That will be very difficult as there is so little there that is of much interest. A few doodles with Jimi playing with his new wah-wah pedal (including a bit of the intro to "1983" and the basic riff of "STP with LSD") but that's about it! He also played some 12 string bass parts on a few other tracks but there's nothing really of any worth there.
Chalpin of course tape-looped a lot of it, in an attempt to create "songs", with Knight overdubbing vocals once Jimi had gone back to London (and without his knowledge!).

They should compile the complete, instrumental takes of the wah-wah jams; "Love Love", which is really an early version of Little Miss Lover, STP-LSD aka "Hush Now"...they have some musical value; the bass jams are pretty much useless, yeah :).
