Vintage EAR 859 ... @royzak2000, I believe you have the EAR 859, does it have a lower power rating than the EAR 869?
After owning a JVC A-X9 for many years - worst mistake ever parting with it! My holy grail was always the M-L10 and P-L10.
I think it was only on the “Laboratory” series from 78-82 or so and only in certain parts of the world. I’ve seen them labeled as both Victor and JVC. They were certainly a very different company back then from what they became in the 80’s, but they are not exactly alone in that regard.
So the JVC Laboratory series is like the Pioneer Elite or Sony ES line? I can see these gears are really a cut above the regular JVC gears ...
Vintage Classe amp and preamp ... Unfortunately, few current models if any are still made in Canada, which I refuse to buy.
I guess you could say that, but nk that was just a label for the separates. I was stationed in Germany when I bought mine from the Audio/Photo club at Bitburg AB. I have no idea how they were marketed in the civilian world. Obviously not very well as the gear is fairly rare, though I did recently pick up an A-X5 and I do see them for sale from time to time.
Aloha this are cute little machines coupled with some bigger JBLs just got few days ago a nearly mind Onkyo Integra A-755nII/100 woooaaahhhhh realy great soundstage cheers
Very cool. I was traveling for work this week and went into a record store where they had a SX 950 and they were asking $350. I Flipped through a couple bins and decided I would go ahead and take it home. As I was walking back to the front of the store they were pulling off the shelf and selling it to the only other guy in the store. I was a little bummed but the guy was buying a new table and two sets of speakers setting up his first real system. It was also his birthday present to himself. That felt like a better situation than me bringing it home to add to what is becoming a ridiculous collection. Also......I'd rather have a 1250 or a Sansui G9000
