I think Ohm will refurbish an original Ohm F, though it is not coming back. The Ohm F is a beast compared with the current offerings ...

Wooden speaker grills were popular back in the day. Nowadays, some speakers actually have removable metal grills ...

From what I understand, they support every speaker they've ever made. Pretty cool company

Indeed! John Strohbeen, who was the founder or cofounder of Ohm going back to the 70's when he was a student at MIT and perhaps partner with Tech HiFi, which was itself cofounded by students from Harvard and MIT, is obviously no spring chicken at this point. Tech HiFi has been gone for many years but as of two years ago and I used to get emails with sale promotions for Ohm speakers from Strohbeen but stopped receiving the emails about a year ago. I wonder if the company has changed hand. BTW, many Ohm speakers were sold through the Techi HiFi stores ...

I have a pair of Sansui SP2500's that I rotate into my vintage rig in my man cave. They sound very nice....especially in the mid range. Not much bottom for a 12 inch woofer so I use a sub.

Ported, but very shallow cabinet. An odd design.

Goodwill rescue...lattice grills long gone. Cabinets beat up, but all drivers working. Mid and high range control in the back work too.

Ya, I'm old enough to remember. Even the ones that were in sideboards. I like the grills off my Heresys.

Talking about vintage speakers, Wharfedale W70s are very good sounding speakers.

I have always lusted after a Garrard 401, but the idea of it is probably better than the reality. Wharfedale Dovedales too.

I'd love one of those 70s Marantz receivers with the blue illumination.

I had one on a custom plinth with Jelco 12" tone arm & Denon DL-304. VP of L'Oreal (friend) talked me out of it. Awesome sounding TT. My present JVC QL-A5 withVM540ML is about 95% of the Garrard set up.

    Whatever happened to Mission speakers?

My brother-in-law used to run a musical instruments store and had superb ears for music. He kept saying the Mission bookshelf speakers, whose model I do not recall, that I picked up for my sister are the best sounding speakers he has ever heard ...

Anyone likes the KEF Cantata SP1056? I saw it in a 1978 Stereo buying guide. Those good old days when KEF was still British owned and made all its speakers in the UK ...
