Not kidding at all, if John had convinced the other three to have Yoko become an official Beatle (playing "wind" or however she'd be credited, and probably helping with album art or promo film stuff), then I think they'd have made at least two more albums together after Abbey Road. We'd have studio Beatles albums from late 1970 and the summer of 1971 as well. Perhaps even the Beatles coordinating the whole Concert for Bangladesh together, not just George on his own....

But I think they'd have not only added Yoko but probably Billy Preston at the same time to officially expand the lineup from 4 to 6.

It wouldn't have been terrible, just bizarre, as long as Yoko didn't sing.

Knowing that John wrote the first verse lines (In the town where I was born, lived a man who sailed to sea) makes it look quite autobiographical, as if he was singing about his dad.

Let both girls in! Yoko on tambourine, Linda on keyboards and you have 6 people there called The Plastic Beatle Wings.

Looks like John took off his sneaker and sock for the parrot to perch on:

If you peel the white off the outer sleeve of the first 1000 copies of the original UK LP, there is a full color parrot underneath.

    Go try it ... ;)

They really seemed to have liked this parrot and they had a lot of fun. Maybe they should have gotten a parrot to hang out during the Get Back/Let It Be sessions. Things might have worked out better:

I'd rather hear the parrot squark than Yoko.

It was an untenable atmosphere in September of '69. John knew how fragmented the Beatles collaborations were at that point especially compared to that of just a few years back in the Revolver/Pepper sessions.

Also it really boils down to the founder of the Beatles fundamentally being changed by Yoko Ono. The rest of the band were now essentially glorified inconveniences next to Yoko.
