Judging by what you can see at the links below and, on the merits of the amps themselves alone (eg: not how they integrate with the particular system you have now) which amp do you think you would pick? Click on "Further details" at the bottom of the page. I'm considering the "High Performance" model. Accustic Arts Amp II AC OR Bryston 14B SST Any opinions or experiences with either of these would be greatly appreciated.
I'd honestly have to hear them in my own system to give a proper evaluation. Based on previous listening, not this particular model, I wasn't impressed with Brystons sound and that's why I ended up choosing my Classe.
The Bryston, for sure, but you really should audition the QUAD 909. TAS recently stated that you need to spend "12 times the money the QUAD costs" to get anything better, or seomthing like that. And, yes, I am biased. I have had QUAD in my system since 1978 and still do. QUAD 405 amp, 606 amp, 44 preamp, 33 preamp, FM3 tuner. The 909 is next on my list for the system I am building in the living room.
I agree with Dave. I had a Bryston for about three days once. I returned it to the store because it was so cold and analytical (great "specs", though). I guess I prefer distortion....
