Donald's the angrier bird. Daffy is more droll, an underachiever who can't win, whereas I think DD causes most of his own woes because he's so pissed off all the time.

He's like half the people on the SHF - angry!

Wow - Mickey's getting smoked. He's my pick. I probably preferred Bugs as a kid, but prefer the art of Mickey and Disney over WB now.

Pretty much what I was thinking before i read your post--Mickey is for kids, but Bugs is for everyone.

True, Donald is the angrier of the two but he is angry because of the nasty stuff some of the other characters do to him. His 3 nephews and Uncle Scrooge treat him like ****. I agree Donald does cause most of his woes but that is because he is trying to get back at the characters who caused his anger in the first place. Any time there was a cartoon with just Donald and his three nephews, it was the nephews pulling all the practical jokes on Donald, especially in the late '80s/early '90s Duck Tales series. Prior to that series, there may have been some where Donald did some pranks on the nephews first and then the nephews retaliated.

Mickey is the one that makes my wife smile, and that's what counts for me.
She likes Bugs, but Mickey is the one to bring a smile to her face when she's feeling down.

Disney uploads all new Mickey's on Youtube. They are done in an old school approach. And a bit more manic and anarchic.
So highly recommended it floats the moon.

Bugs for me but then I am not The Mouse's real target, which is kids 5 and under.
My Granddaughter loves Clubhouse but Bugs and Co are given the brush off.

I'm afraid I have never found Mickey Mouse in any way appealing,. Bugs Bunny for me all the way. Even when I was five or six I found Mickey annoying.

In cartoons, it's Bugs. For comics, it's Mickey. The Floyd Gottfrefson Mickey Mouse comic strip was the tops.

IIRC, "original Donald" did much of the instigating. He was always a prick - this is a character who faked an illness to avoid work in his very first appearance!

He may have become more of a victim in later years, but I think early Donald actively provoked the others...

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is such an outstanding movie for many reasons, and this is one of them. :)

And, for either Disney or WB, any cartoons made from 1960-present are non-canon.
