I'd say that's a very questionable assertion. There have been countless talented female musicians working in the metal and hard rock sphere since the mid-nineties.

    ^^Lita Ford?

Just kidding, that's Doro Pesch. Good choice.

How about some of the stoner rock stuff like Blood Ceremony, Jex Thoth, Witch Mountain, or Dark Castle (the guitarist is a woman).

  8. Celebrity Skin is probably Hole's finest album but not the hardest rocking.
I don't think anything can touch Hole's debut for hard rocking:

Quite incredibly I misspelled the word "add" as "ad". Next time I'll probably screw up "a"

Their debut EP "Stark" and full length CD "This is The End of Control" are both really, really good. What a shame they broke up.

I like Blood Ceremony, Christian Mistress, The Oath, Jex Thoth, Electric Wizard, Witch Mountain, and Royal Thunder as far as contemporary acts go. Older acts--Sleeter Kinney, Team Dresch, the first two Hole albums, L7, Frightwig, Scrawl, The Gits, Bikini Kill,Joan Jett, Heart up until they started singing Dianne Warren songs, The Slits, X-Ray Spex, The Rezillos, Suzi Quatro (Chapman Chinn era),more, but that's enough for now
