Why aren't there more knockout Neil Young cover songs?

Considering Neil's amazing, voluminous catalog, you'd think there would be a dozen that would immediately leap out as recognizable and beloved. Here are a couple more recent ones that do the job. Just discovered the Boz Scaggs one the other day. Feel free to post your underappreciated favorites.

This one's pretty great, too, and fairly recent.

Not exactly underappreciated; regularly regarded as a high water mark of cover versions...

The best Neil Young cover is by the pixies.

Frankly, I think it's because Neil is just too uniquely... Neil...

His songs are so personal (eg: Transformer Man)
And his style of delivery is both so unique, and so integral to the songs, that anyone else's cover / interpretation is immediately 50% disadvantaged just by not being... Neil...

It's the Neil-yness of Neil's delivery that makes Neil's songs so Neil-y.... err... or something...

  8. Australian alternative rock band The Church. I love this cover. Excellent guitar sounds by Marty Willson-Piper and Peter Koppes.

There are a number of interesting Heart of Gold covers. This is one of my faves, and recorded in the late 1970s.

Phenomenal. Thom Yorke could do a Neil tribute album all by himself.

Teenage Fanclub covered this on one of their early B sides, but I like this updated live version better.
