Windows Media Player Full Screen Flickering Problem

I just got a new Vista computer up and running and I tried playing a DVD with WMP 11 set to full screen mode. I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 923NW LCD monitor with an ATI Radeon X800 Pro video card. The picture quality is excellent but the screen flickers constantly. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is there a codec that will fix the problem or should I just use a different DVD player?

 

The problem went away when I played the DVD with Windows Media Center - picture looks great! Apparently, this system is more advanced than WMP.
