But still not as eerie as the guy who played "M*A*S*H"'s Henry Blake on TV (McLean Stevenson) expiring *one day* before his big-screen counterpart (Roger Bowen)!

Both within a week? Yeah that's fairly spooky. I guess they were always close.

Ah well, a great era in cartooning has drawn to a close. But there'll be some good cartoons up in Heaven now

At first I thought someone was reporting Johnny Hart's death a week late, as my brain always connects the two.

    Sad. :sigh:

Bummer... I've had one of his strips on my frig for over 25 years.

The first frame shows a messenger telling the king, "The peasant's well is poluted!"

The next frame the king commands, "We had better put up a sign!"

The third frame shows a couple of unhappy peasants standing beside a well with the new sign stating, "Industrial Strength Water".

    Wow, that is weird.

With many classic comic strips currently enjoying complete hardcover reprint runs -- PEANUTS, FAR SIDE, CALVIN & HOBBES, DICK TRACY, KRAZY KAT, GASOLINE ALLEY, DENNIS THE MENACE -- we'll probably see some B.C. and WIZARD OF ID collections. And hopefully the long-promised POGO run.

That's really freaky. It's almost like when one elderly person in a marriage dies, and the other one follows close behind.
