Would you buy a single album version of The Beatles White Album?

    It would be a little tempting if it had other songs and alternate versions like the slow version of Helter Skelter, Etcetera, Sour Milk Sea and other similar songs

    It would take more than just releasing a single disc version today selected from the original double album tracks. We can do that ourselves. But it doesn't mean anything because it is not an artistic statement made by the Beatles, and hearing the subset out of context would just sound "wrong."

    For it to have any meaning, in addition to the Beatles themselves in 1968 reducing the original to a single disc of primo songs, better care should also have been given to the performances and recordings in order for it to really be an improvement over what we have.

    Regardless, if released in 1968 when the Beatles could do no wrong in the eyes of the public, a single disc would have undoubtedly sold even better than the double album, given the lower single disc price.
