I've been obsessing over this little edit I heard on a Donovan song a couple days ago, I can't NOT hear it now.

Not only that, but now I'm fairly sure the LP is mono and not a reduction from stereo.

The edit is on 'Epistle to Dippy', on the instrumental bars that follow the first occurrence of the lines 'Looking through crystal spectacles / I can see you had your fun'.

Right before the second repeat of the melody (it's played twice and then the second verse starts) there is an out-of-phase edit a la She Loves You.. when playing the LP in stereo the edit does NOT move from side to side so the phasing must be on the source tape, not the LP.

If the tape was stereo (and therefore the mono LP a reduction) I'd think the edit wouldn't sound out of phase, right?

Whatever.. :D. Just a boring Sat afternoon

    Cheers
