Seems an odd project. For those who aren't aware, Trevor Horn already recorded this and it's available on the expanded version of The Buggles' Adventures in Modern Recording. And I unashamedly like it a lot!

The whole album or the song that was later expanded into a side long suite?

They brought in Trevor Horn to re-record the vocals on these albums? Neat!

Why in the world don't you have both vinyl and SACD by this point? Golly!

    Yes needs to stop touring...
They should have called it quits for good after the death of Chris squire.

I'll get this for sure. Horn singing will make the album even more into "Drama Part II". Hope the new mix and mastering will be less compressed than the original CD.

So I listened to the title suite. It's definitely not bad.

As someone else said, the vocals already sound a lot like Trevor Horn. I guess I can see the appeal of turning it into a "Drama lineup album", but listening to it, I would actually prefer to hear the whole thing re-recorded, not just the vocals. What I like about Drama is the hard edge on the guitar and some of the keyboards, which is largely missing here. It would probably sound pretty good recorded in that sort of style, but now that Squire is gone, that option isn't really on the table either.

Anyway, nice to hear a newish, not-bad Yes album that I'd never heard before.

I bought it and thought I did myself a disservice. I already had a better sounding original which I paid $4 for.

Not to be a jerk, but I just figured someone reading this might want to save their money....

The original Drama has to be the best sounding album of Yes' original run. Especially after the botches of GFTW and Tormato.

Funny thing is I've listened to Fly From Here three times and I'm sitting here thinking, you mean Trevor Horn DIDN'T sing on it???

I guess I'm in the clan that thinks Benoit David sounds a lot like Horn to begin with, because I swear I don't think it ever occurred to me while listening that it was Benoit David on vocals. Reading here that it was actually surprises me.

This is what I was thinking. I thought the vocals were pretty good. Certainly not worth a re-record. How about this....make some new music.

Fragile is the best I've heard. Not so much Drama.

There's no need for this, but I wouldn't complain if it existed either. Fly From Here really was sort of a Drama, Part 2, so might as well take that to it's fullest potential.

Interesting news, turning "Fly From Here" into "Drama 2" after the fact. I won't debate the wisdom of doing it, since they did it already. I'm interested to hear it, and even if I weren't, I certainly wouldn't argue against its release. There are thousands of albums I have no interest in hearing; it doesn't make me want to lobby to block their release or complain about their existence.

Since they're reissuing the album anyway - I wonder if this new edition will include the long version of "Hour of Need," which so far exists only on the Japanese version of the album.
