I recently made this new wave CD for a friend:

    1. My Sharona: The Knack
    2. What I Like About You: The Romantics
    3. Sgt. Rock: XTC
    4. Love My Way: The Psychedelic Furs
    5. Pump It Up: Elvis Costello
    6. Should I Stay Or Should I Go: The Clash
    7. Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah!): Joan Jett
    8. What Do I Get?: Buzzcocks
    9. Once In A Lifetime: Talking Heads
    10. Friction: Television
    11. Goody Two Shoes: Adam Ant
    12. I Love A Man In Uniform: Gang Of Four
    13. The Look Of Love: ABC
    14. Rock Lobster: The B-52's
    15. Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll: Ian Dury
    16. Vacation: The Go-Go's
    17. I Wanna Be Sedated: Ramones
    18. Save It For Later: The English Beat
    19. Shake It Up: The Cars
    20. White Girl: X
    21. Nobody Hurts You: Graham Parker
    22. Burning Down The House (live): Talking Heads

One thing I like about it is that if you were to buy one of the dozens of new wave CDs on the market, you would have little overlap with my CD. (I have no Duran Duran, a-ha, Culture Club, Flock Of Seagulls, Men At Work, etc.) Also, I tried to mix well-known cuts with lesser-known ones.

    Hope you guys like it!:)

    Bob,

Actually, several cuts are from the '70s. Maybe I shouldn't have written '80s in the heading. Oh well.

My favorite music era...some great choices. "Sgt. Rock" and "I Love a Man in a Uniform" are less well-known selections...well done!!

Space Age Love Song--A Flock of Seagulls
    Love Plus One--Haircut 100
    Love My Way--Psychedelic Furs
    The Look of Love--ABC
    Message of Love--Pretenders
Love Action (I Believe in Love)--Human League
    My Love Is Chemical--Lou Reed
    Genius of Love--Tom Tom Club
    Oh L'Amour--Erasure
Love Is a Shield--Camouflage (great Depeche Mode sound-alike!)
    Love Comes Quickly--Pet Shop Boys
    Moments In Love--Art of Noise
    Love For Sale--Talking Heads
The More You Live, the More You Love--A Flock of Seagulls
    Love on Your Side--Thompson Twins
    The Meaning of Love--Depeche Mode
    Love Song--the Cure
Love of the Common People--Paul Young
    Love in the First Degree--Bananarama
    So In Love--OMD
    Bizarre Love Triangle--New Order
    You Know I Love You...Don't You?--Howard Jones
Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go?--Soft Cell
There's More to Love Than Boy Meets Girl--Communards
This Is Not a Love Song--Public Image Ltd.

...notice a common thread in all the song titles?? ;)
