yippiee! my Tannoy System 12 DMT's arrived!

I must say...They image and soundstage like no ones business...clarity, detail and some warmth....Although I do miss that certain tone that the EV12trxb's paper cones have...also the bass is slightly more anemic than the EV's....But it feels like now I am enjoyiong the fruits of some advancements in speaker design as compared to the EV's and their kind of narrow sweetspot...

For now, I have the Tannoys about 22" off the ground on top of the EV's.(which are still for sale).

When I played the XRCD of Pix at an Exhibition, it was a wow experience...every orchestral layer is more clearly defined by a wide margin.

Tannoys powered by MC40's thru Berning TF-10 pre, Parasound CDP-2000, and VPI Scout TT...speak wire is Grover as well as CDP-preamp..

 

If you put those babies on proper stands, your bass will improve.

 

You may be on to something there,,,...today they get my 22" Sound Anchors...
