Young Gun Silver Fox have just released a new album: AM Waves. It’s in the same vein as the excellent West End Coast.

    Check it out:

Very much looking forward to this. Loved the first one. Unfortunately it won't be available in The States until June, I think.

Thanks for this. Love these guys. It tickles the yacht rock bone in my brain. And you could do worse than a Hall & Oates clone.

Just got my copy of this and gave it a quick spin. Very well crafted pop n’ soul.

My copy just arrived from Amazon UK. First impressions... a great album, definitely up to the very high standards of the last one. This will be on heavy rotation over the coming months. Hoping I can see these guys in concert at some point.

Has Hall & Oates written all over it but infectious nonetheless.

Very nice track! Sounds like a cross between Hall and Oates and Michael McDonald-era Doobies.

Wow, is that actually the Japan version?

No, it is either a UK or US version.

Andy Platts' other project, Mama's Gun, also released a new album recently:

These guys are excellent. Loved West End Coast, and this one's even BETTER, IMO.

Bought their last album after hearing (and loving) the first by Young Gun Silver Fox but sadly wasn’t too impressed. However I saw they’d released a new one a few months back and, having really enjoyed A.M. Waves, thought I’d give it a go. Glad I did, some great tracks on this and a nice vibe throughout. If you like AM Waves then you should definitely give the new one by Mama’s Gun a go.

Does anyone have this one on vinyl? Worth picking up or should I stick with the CD?

I have it on vinyl and I think it sounds nice. Not a great pressings, but it’s pretty quiet and the music sounds good. Great album.
