Between the numerous comic books, films, video games, cartoons and the 1966 tv series, which is your favorite Batmobile?

My favorites are the 1944 Batmobile drawn by Dick Sprang, which was a slight update on the Jerry Robinson design and later, the version from the Warner Bros. 1992-95 "Batman: The Animated Series."

I like the 1989 Dark Knight batmobile with the big turbine in the front. It was very retro and had a 1930's flavor.

After that I like the Adam West bat-mobile that I saw as a kid. It looked like a sleek black Police cruiser with red trim and a bubble cock pit, bat wing fins and exhaust pipes from a rail dragster jutting out from behind the passenger compartment. It was of its time and a bold restatement on an iconic vehicle.

There seems to be two styles of bat mobiles. The sleek high speed racer and the chunky quasi-military small tank. I like the sporty variety.

"Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed". The 1960s TV series all the way.

  6. This is the one for me. For one it is real and can be driven on regular roads, in regular situations so it literally brings comic book adventure to real life.

Yeah, c'mon. Anything else just isn't the Batmobile.

Least favorite - the ugly tank thing from Batman Begins.

Adam West version first place, then the 1989 version.

Gotta go with the 60's version. Jerry Lawler owns one.

The '60s version, big time. I have a photo of myself standing in front of one at a convention I attended in the '90s, where Adam West himself was the special guest.

Mr. West was extremely cool, by the way, and totally outclassed the con's other special guest... Ace Frehley of KISS, who was a surly, unfriendly, hungover douche.

1966 version, but I really like the one from the 1968 cartoon also. That cartoon is not very good, but I love the designs of the batmobile, and most of the characters.

    I like the '66 model.

    I had this set:

    • The batmobile fired rockets (OK, plastic pellets)
    • You pressed the button and the cutter popped out
    • The exhaust flame pulsated
    • And the batboat floated in water

Yes. The fact that I've gotten to see this in real life, and it's actually a drivable vehicle, makes this the winner for me. I do think the driver got ticketed once, though, as it doesn't have working backlights.

Edit: though they appear to work in that video.

This is the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car that George Baris customized to create the Batmobile.

The 60's version for coolness but the Dark Knight version for functionality.

I prefer the post-Crisis On Infinite Earths* version of The Batmobile. Instead of a custom-made car, The Batmobile was basically an ordinary black sedan. Batman would put a removable lab in the trunk to be used when needed. Later, he returned to more custom-made vehicles. While it wasn't a fancy vehicle, it would be practical considering what Batman uses it for.

*Crisis On Infinite Earths was a DC event that altered the entire DC Universe, reducing the multiverse down to just one universe by the end of the series.
