    Hi everybody,

I've been listening to some Allen Toussaint, Neville Brothers, Dr. John, and other records from New Orleans artists lately.
Just wanted to know which records, coming from there and in all styles, have your preferences ?

I love Babylon, by Dr. John. I wish the sound quality was better, though.

Hard for me to do.........I like too much ranging from the older R&B to Professor Longhair to Allen Toussaint to Fats Domino to Ernie K Doe to The Meter to The Radiators (though they're better live than their studio recordings) and most inbetween.,

I used to see the rads all the time. they were great live. like many bands, it didn't transfer as well to the studio.

ed volcker is one of the great underrated artists. i would listen to dr john if you want an overview of new orleans, he s like a human version of the town.

I'm sure a LOT of the great songs of New Orleans started at this place ...

If you ever come across "We sing the blues" on Minit records, grab it up. It's got Aaron Neville, Chris Kenner, Irma Thomas, Ernie K Doe and all. Also "Mardi gras in New Orleans" is a classic
