Been delving a bit into the
early years , only have the
    first two Aussie albums .

  2. Voted Let There Be Rock. Specifically the US version. 'Crabsody In Blue' is out of place on that album....it's much better with Problem Child replacing it.

Might as well list the other original covers.

That's the trouble when territories screw around with the tracklisting. Problem Child belongs on Dirty Deeds (which then makes it my favourite!)

I think Powerage is usually the winner in polls like this. I picked Let There Be Rock as it contains my two favorite AC/DC tunes of all in the title track and "Overdose".

I voted for Powerage, but it's a toss-up with Highway to Heck.

Let there be rock, but the last three of the OP list are some piece of rock'n roll

Powerage. Down-to-earth relatable lyrics ("Down Payment Blues", "Sin City"), a preview of one of their best songs ("Gimme A Bullet"), a cool rocker with unexpected group harmonies ("What's Next To The Moon"), a great mellow rocker about smack addiction ("Gone Shooting", which would be my favorite if not for...) the most breakneck rocker they ever did ("Riff Raff"). Plus other great tunes!

Not knockin' anything else they did during this time, but this is my favorite. Don't make it your first album though.

Powerage. It was my second AC/DC album purchase and I think it is the most underrated of the Bon era albums. Even the "hits" on it are forgotten by everyone, haha.

Highway. But Let there Be Rock and Powerage are nipping at the heels of Hell in my book. That's the trinity right there.

  18. Powerage. The European version kicks ass with Alternate takes, a different track order and "Cold Hearted Man"

Am I the only person that prefers the "official" version? I'm not keen on the original mixes. They were rushed out and definitely sound like it to me. The "official" mix definitely sounds "finished" to me, in the best of ways.

All it's missing is Cold Hearted Man. :)

    Hello,

Powerage for me. It sits & rocks real steady all the way through, with arguably the best studio recorded sound of the Bon Scott era records. They'd refined their sound by this time & used the stereo imaging & over-dubs etc to great effect to augment the sound, without sounding over-produced.

It's the first pick every time I'm in the mood for some solid Rock 'n Roll, AC/DC style. Great stuff !

    Cheers,

    Gregster

This was my first (the first I heard by them too) and so it all comes back to this.

If not, then it wasn't easy to decide but I went for High Voltage (international version.)

Let there Be Rock because it's got the ultimate AC/DC guitar sound. On "Go Down" and "Dog Eat Dog" it sounds like the Marshalls are about to explode.

Voted Powerage; IYWB was my intro to AC/DC though.
Had to keep my old copy of LTBR as it sounds wrong without 'Crabsody'.

Dirty Deeds for me. It was my first AC/DC LP & still receives plenty of playtime.
