It really is that good. I couldn't believe it when I heard it, as the original sounds great, but the new one is even better. 3D soundstage and lively.

The reissue might be the best sounding piece of vinyl I own. I bought two copies. One to play, one to save. It's that good.

I have the Au20 (gold disc) cd. - Is the new pressing better sounding?

I haven't owned the AU20 in years so I can't compare directly. However, the new version is the best vinyl pressing that exists. If you like Zappa, if you like vinyl, if you like this album - it's worth buying.

These are Newbury special colored vinyl versions. So technically BWS is an alternate pressing.

Yes, from Amazon. Haven’t played it yet, but love seeing that Pallas sticker on the front.

    Chunga’s Revenge

Unboxed and gave its first spin tonight! Vinyl is flat, quiet and mastering is Epic as usual.

I owe a relatively old NM Canadian pressing that I could use for A/B comparison but this is not really needed, the new pressing is winning.

I like OSFA from this series a lot. It’s still not my favorite though. Hot Rats really beats it IMO. Burnt Weenie Sandwich and Joes Garage are close and maybe as good. I think this speaks volumes about this reissue campaign. The biggest argument is which ones are the MOST awesome.

I got my Chunga's Revenge and Burnt Weeny Sandwich on colored vinyl (this past week) and I'm sure Chunga sounds wonderful. It is just my least favorite Mothers album of the era. No match imo for Burnt Weeny Sandwich or Ripped Flesh. Not even close sadly.

Do you really like this album out of all of them from the catalog? The cover is cool and makes me expect a five star stunner.

Hoping for Fillmore East 1971 and Waka Jawaka next.

Just Another Band From L A. would be great too.

At this point I think I have the whole series. Not one has disappointed.

As far as ranking the albums for music and sound, suffice it to say I have bought backup copies of One Size Fits All, Hot Rats, and Joe's Garage.

The cover is iconic. The album is not one of the best from that era, though. Has a bit of “treading water” feel to it.

A friend and I each could not decide which of the vinyl reissues to get. Since he did not own them, I suggested he get all Verve era, plus OSFT. And for me slrrsdy owning everything on vinyl, I'm getting any and all that come out on colored wax via Newberry. That makes it easy! Limited to 500 makes them instant collectors' items for real!

Yes I like this album very much and seriously it’s hard to get a favorite Zappa album out of the bunch musically speaking. Part of the conceptual continuity.
