I have just bought the Ziggy Stardust motion picture CD soundtrack and the sleeve states "copy protected". I want to make a back up for the car but I have heard that Copy Protection can damage a PC. Has anyone any advice or exp[eriences to share on this matter.

PC damage is a myth. One can still copy such a disk, if your PC will play it, with several decent software tools, such as the analog Total Recorder.

I have found that CD-R drives can still read copy-protected discs, so all you really need to do is a disc-at-once copy (if you have Nero), using your CD-R drive as the source AND the burner.
