This hasn't much to do with Elvis' movies other than songs taken from the This Is Elvis soundtrack. As you can see, I pulled heavily from the This Is Elvis soundtrack album. I had other Elvis mixtapes but this was the one that I seemed to use most on the road. Good music for driving. I later made a playlist of this for the digital age. I rarely play an all Elvis playlist anymore but I pull this up sometimes for a nostalgic road trip. Elvis mixtape 1. That's All Right 2. I'm Counting On You 3. Mystery Train 4. Trying To Get To You 5. I've Got A Woman 6. Shake,Rattle, & Roll - Flip, Flop, & Fly (Dorsey Show)(from This Is Elvis Soundtrack) 7. When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again 8. Mean Woman Blues (Loving You movie version)(from This Is Elvis Soundtrack) 9. Rip It Up 10. Hound Dog (Milton Berle show)(from This Is Elvis Soundtrack) 11. Trouble 12. A Fool Such As I 13. I Need Your Love Tonight 14. Feels So Right 15. Such A Night 16. Anything That's Part Of You 17. Put The Blame On Me 18. Little Sister 19. Plantation Rock (from my new copy of Legendary Performer Vol.4) 20. Follow That Dream 21. Tomorrow Night (from Elvis For Everyone) 22. Memphis Tennessee(from Elvis For Everyone) 23. Blue Suede Shoes (cool edited version from the 1968 TV Special shows) (from This Is Elvis Soundtrack) 24. If I Can Dream 25. Kentucky Rain 26. Suspicious Minds 27. Always On My Mind (great alternate version) (from This Is Elvis Soundtrack) 28. An American Trilogy (awesome overdubbed version)(from This Is Elvis Soundtrack)

Looks like we cover a lot of the same ground @PepiJean . Great other stuff there too! I forgot to post the previously unreleased version of "Always On My Mind" that is superior to the released master IMO. It's been my go-to version of that song since I got the soundtrack album.
I apologize for hijacking the thread @Bink . I figure that I might as well post the trailer to This Is Elvis for anyone that hasn't seen it before.
I agree: the "EOT" version of ALWAYS ON MY MIND is the definitivew for me too. I remember hearing it for the first time in "The Great Performances" LP (1990 probably) and thinking: "That's the one!"
More than happy for you (or anyone) to use this thread for any discussions related to Elvis movies now that the main discussion has ended.
Well, as promised, my Elvis fan friend got me a bunch of Elvis movie DVDs for Christmas. This is what he gave me: Tickle Me Charro! Stay Away Joe Girl Happy Kissin' Cousins Live a Little, Love a Little
Thank you Jayson. It has been great for me too. I had only seen a handful of these movies so it has been fantastic to share the experience of watching them all with you all.
I just want to say that I went to one of my local Dollar Tree stores today & picked up a DVD copy of Kid Galahad for $1.00. There were a few copies there.
Oh, by the way Bink, do you know that there is an Ipswich, here in Massachusetts? It's a coastal town not too far away from me in the North Shore area. Is your Ipswich a coastal town also?
There is also an Ipswich in Australia - it is a city a bit inland from Brisbane, the capital of the state of Queensland. 'Wich/wic' was used by the Anglo-Saxons for trading settlements, so wics are often found on the coast in England.
Yes, I was aware there is an Ipswich in the US but I wasn't sure where specifically. My Ipswich isn't exactly a coastal town but we are just a few miles from the East coast of England.
I absolutely loved Tickle Me as a kid ! And yes, Girl Happy is fun. The rest...well what can you say?
The Aloha From Hawaii concert didn't really fit the remit of this thread but as today is the 49th anniversary of this concert, here's a clip: Maybe there will be a 50th anniversary thread next year!
I really wish Loving You,Blue Hawaii and original cut of Thats The Way It Is was released on bluray but it seems very unlikely,at least for two of them. Most dvd editions of these 3 titles is really poor and what bothers me the most is that all versions of TTWII mentioned above is in mono only.
By studio: Paramount: 'Loving You' (1957) 'King Creole' 1958), 'G.I. Blues' (1960), 'Blue Hawaii' (1961), 'Girls! Girls! Girls!' (1962), 'Fun In Acapulco' (1963), 'Roustabout' (1964), 'Paradise, Hawaiian Style' (1965) and 'Easy Come, Easy Go' (1967). Only 'King Creole' has been released on BD. Fox: 'Love Me Tender' (1956), 'Flaming Star' (1960) and 'Wild In The Country' (1961). All three have been released on BD. MGM: 'Jailhouse Rock', 'It Happened At the World's Fair', 'Kissin' Cousins', 'Viva Las Vegas', 'Girl Happy', 'Harum Scarum', 'Spinout', 'Double Trouble', 'Stay Away Joe', 'Speedway', 'Live A Little, Love A Little', 'The Trouble With Girls', 'Elvis-That's The Way It Is' and 'Elvis On Tour'. Bold titles have been released. on BD. Original cut of TTWII not on BD. United Artists: 'Follow That Dream', 'Kid Galahad', 'Frankie and Johnny' and 'Clambake'. All four have been released on BD. National General: 'Charro'. No BD. Universal: 'Change of Habit'. Released on BD. 14 out of 33 films on BD. 15 if you count the SE of TTWII.
