Guess some people are still "flush" in this economy.

 

I didn't think it was that rare. I had a mono copy, long lost by now.

 

Maybe it's time I put up one of mine.

I actually think the guidebooks have underrated this one for years, and this auction is more realistic.

Note that this copy appears to be a cutout (drilled cover)...I wonder if these wound up in a schlock channel?

 

Whether someone is market value or not seems to go out the window if it's a Bob Djukic auction. Here's popsike.com for comparison:

You can say that again. I recently listed a mint-minus copy of an album that eventually sold for about $35. However, a few weeks earlier, the aforementioned seller in question listed a the same LP that was about VG+ (though he added a few "+++++"'s in his description); that copy sold for almost $100.

WOW! I had no idea....only VG+ vinyl too. I've got an A-VG+/B-EXC cover-EXC. Canadian pressing IIRC. Certainly no drillhole to foul it up. I knew it was rare but as much as I love the Mamas and Papas I didn't figure there was TONS of interest in the title. I figured it was a $25-$50 title (still might be, the linked auction could just be a fluke). I've never bothered looking since I enjoy the LP immensely. It's actually packed away atm (still unpacking after 6 months in a new place!), along with 90% of my vinyl...I think I'll dig it out soon.


EDIT- reading the rest of the thread, looks like I'm not far off in my price estimation.

 

I'm kicking myself for not grabbing the toilet covers from trashed LPs!! It'd be easy to throw a VG Mono in there from the censored covers- assuming the catalog # is the same. 300:1 is certainly not the ratio from my experience hunting. I come across it about once a year, usually with a trashed LP. I have no plans to sell my only copy...
