This is sort of a jazz / rock type band. British, I think, from 1970, 1971. Reminds me of a cross between BS&T and 10 Wheel Drive. Pretty cool stuff! I have two Russian made CDs If and If 2. Finally listened to them last night. They suffer from the typical Russian CD problems: dull mastering, questionable sources, poor graphics, narrow sound stage, etc. It has the same problems as my Russian "Pretty Things, S F Sorrow" CD. But the Pretty Things is finally remastered and available in North America. Anyone ever hear of "If"? Any better sounding CDs out there.... in Europe, perhaps? Thanks for any help!
Gary There is a bit of info and a mini discography here - a number of albums were released on the Edsel label http://www.borderlinebooks.com/uk6070s/tapestry.html?http://www.borderlinebooks.com/uk6070s/i1z.html All the best - Andrew
Gary, In the mid-90's Sequel/Castle in the UK released an If compilation CD, entitled "Forgotten Roads" which I seem to remember as having decent sound quality. I believe that some of their individual LPs have also been released on CD in the UK, possibly on Edsel. I would probably start with the "Forgotten Roads" compilation, if given a choice.
