This is sort of a jazz / rock type band. British, I think, from 1970, 1971. Reminds me of a cross between BS&T and 10 Wheel Drive. Pretty cool stuff!

I have two Russian made CDs If and If 2. Finally listened to them last night. They suffer from the typical Russian CD problems: dull mastering, questionable sources, poor graphics, narrow sound stage, etc. It has the same problems as my Russian "Pretty Things, S F Sorrow" CD. But the Pretty Things is finally remastered and available in North America.

Anyone ever hear of "If"? Any better sounding CDs out there.... in Europe, perhaps?

    Thanks for any help! :)

    Gary,

In the mid-90's Sequel/Castle in the UK released an If compilation CD, entitled "Forgotten Roads" which I seem to remember as having decent sound quality. I believe that some of their individual LPs have also been released on CD in the UK, possibly on Edsel. I would probably start with the "Forgotten Roads" compilation, if given a choice.
