Always fascinating to see the love and affection for a record such as this which has a strong cultural significance in one part of the world. Of course here in the UK Thanksgiving isn't a holiday and the Charlie Brown cartoon and comic strip although popular never had the same impact. I've listened to the music and it does have a certain charm that instantly conjures up the early 60s.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been a huge buzz online about this release. It might be due to the fact that it’s been barely advertised but I expect that to change within the next couple of months as Thanksgiving draws closer. I’m sure the tracks will eventually be released digitally online and to either Vince or Lee’s Youtube channels as well.
Probably because it’s not a Craft/Concord release. When they did the Pumpkin/Black Orpheus/Xmas reissues last year, we heard lots.

This is the same version as on the Charlie Brown Suite CD but with the horns mixed out and including an unused Fender Rhodes part.
It’s odd that they would mix them out if that’s the case, they add a lot to the recording I’d say. As for the Fender Rhodes it had to be done at the time they were editing the special because it isn’t there in the TV version. The regular version on the “Suite” CD that was used in the special is obviously included on this Thanksgiving album as track #8 “Linus and Lucy”.
It seems that Vince would sometimes record parts not used on the final mixes, particularly when he started recorded at Wally Heider which had multitrack facilities. I imagine they left out the horns in order to highlight the Fender Rhodes part which has never been heard before.
The Easter Beagle music is probably my favorite, after Great Pumpkin and Christmas. I soooo hope they're able to put together an Easter LP for next year.
Hopefully, you are correct. Were it me, I'd have put the word "stereo" somewhere in that press release and on the album artwork. A few tunes from the Thanksgiving special have been previously released, in mono apparently. Vince Guaraldi Trio - Charlie Brown's Holiday Hits
Almost all the tracks for Thanksgiving were released on various albums over the years except for “Fife and Drums Theme” and a couple others. Those “Lost Cues” albums some tracks appeared on were infamous for being entirely mislabeled somehow. I’m excited to finally hear all the tracks in higher quality after so many years.
I just found out about this by listening to the most recent ‘Cereal at Midnight’ podcast. I called my local record shop and placed an order for the green vinyl along with the 2022 Great Pumpkin 2x45 RPM release … both should arrive in a week
