The Beatles New Ai Album, “Across Time”

It's not really an album ("Buy this album today! Nowhere man… it’s literally nowhere, man."), it's a collection of images (and a song lyric) made by AI to showcase how The Fab Four might look "across time." Bizarre IMO, and I suspect it will be forced down by legal action from the estates. Would probably have been better delivered as an April Fool's joke.

How could this AI possibly get the music right if it can't even get the name of the band down??

I see several images of human males in their 20s, all looking like some kind of facial mashups between John, Paul, George and Ringo... but none of them look quite.. right.

And those lyrics?? Atrocious!
The first and second verses don't parse even remotely the same! Ugh!
V1: In my life - I've been searching [3 + 4 syllables, emphasis on syllables 3 and 6]
V2: I never knew, I could feel this way [4 + 5 syllables, emphasis on syllables 3 and either 7 or 9, with secondary emphasis on either 9 or 7]

This whole AI trend is discomforting. It’ll only get worse.

The lyrics are bad but I can hear it in McCartney's voice. You can almost hear where the musical accents should go.

I suppose we are not far off from a time when AI can pretty much replicate dead artists and make "new" work of theirs. Culturally that's about where we are at, or have been, for decades.

I doubt the estates of The Beatles will fall prey to it (who knows, though)--but others will. And we already have hologram tech to bring them (back) to life three-dimensionally.

 

If this is the best AI can do we can all sleep easy. Nothing to fear. Artificial Ineptitude more like it.

 

The problem with a "sleep easy" attitude is that AI will eventually much better (or much worse, depending on your perspective).

 

I didn't post it because I like it. I posted it because members here (at least those that are Beatles fans) deserve to be aware of it.

I refuse to believe the music on CD is 0’s and 1’s.

 

It would be Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

 

It somehow reminds me of this AI-like experiment from few years ago that also took some Beatles ingredients...
