I wouldn’t count on it. But believe what you will...at this point what’s done is done. Just glad has nothing to do with me

  2. So it's OK for insiders to share trade secrets, but not someone else who hasn't been blessed with the title 'insider'. Ok then. But then again, the insiders haven't shared anything anyway, as you state.

Of course, just when I decided to fork over $50 to get the two singles, they reissue them!

You can poke fun all you like, but Brian from Canada's post above is likely very close to reality. Apple have every right to be upset, and someone is probably going to lose their job.

Some people are like Veruca Salt:

And they can be categorized like Veruca as well:

I totally agree. I was hoping Something Take 36 or Take 37 was going to be on the set

I’m guessing the Abbey Road box cover will be just Pepper’s- holographic so it looks like they’re walking across the zebra stripe.

Those insiders are told what they can say and what they can't say and/or drop hints without going so far as to damage their relationship.
It takes time to become trusted enough to be told what's coming – the entertainment industry is notorious for leaks but it's also notorious for keeping secrets as well.

Now that someone has leaked, every relationship will be reviews. We may lose the ability to get hints in the future — that makes us all lose thanks to one person's desire for momentary glory.

you are of course entitled to your opinion (truly)... many of us view it differently... the hints make it fun.. pass the time.. enhance this community.. and if we learn a few things along the way, all the cooler.. again, just different view.. I have sensed zero arrogance, elitism, or sadistic tendencies in any of our insider friends...

Then it'll be like the old days...you found out about something when it got actually released. I really think this concern is way overblown. (my opinion).

I don't know why I feel so compelled to defend our usual insiders (other than I appreciate their sharing what they can over the years very much) BUT by doing what this person did in releasing all the information they did, it not only may limit what they will know in the future, it may limit what OTHERS who did NOT release such specific information will know in the future as well.

    a loss for everyone.

    Announcement patterns of the past:

    Pepper 50
    Announcement: April 5 (Wednesday)
    Release May 26 (Friday)
    Days: 51

    Christmas Records
Announcement: November 2 (Thursday / delayed from November 1, a Wednesday)
    Release: December 15 (Friday)
    Days: 43

    Yellow Submarine Picture Disc
    Announcement: May 30 (Wednesday)
    Release: July 6 (Friday)
    Days: 37

    White 50
Announcement: September 24 (Monday / delayed from September 19, a Wednesday)
    Release: November 9 (Friday)
    Days: 46 (51 on schedule)
50th Anniversary all things Beatles White Album

From this pattern, we know that the announcement must be scheduled for a Wednesday that is 51 days before the release day, which is always a Friday. Now that we know that the release date is Friday, September 27, we can deduce that the announcement is scheduled for August 7. If there are no delays this year, this will be the day an official announcement is made.

I understand the leaker facing consequences at the office, but I fail to see how such a leak of a track list negatively affects an overall marketing strategy or, ultimately, sales of the product in the slightest little bit. It's not like the actual outtake tracks were leaked for anyone to download them for free. Nothing of actual value was handed over to the public. We just got a peak at a potential track list a few weeks early. That's nothing. I don't see why Apple can't just ignore it, in terms of the mass public anyway, and continue with their original timeline and plans for releasing info and the products.

Let's all just breath and relax.
